What?
Working with Independent (Autonomous and Non-Autonomous) Respiratory Protection (IS-081) This course teaches how to handle autonomous and non-autonomous independent respiratory protection (both SCBAs and hose-connected devices) effectively and safely.
Content
Theory:
- Properly interpret basic regulations in the use of self-contained breathing apparatus
- operation of breathing
- recognize risks (oxygen deficiency, health hazards, limit values)
- dependent and self-contained breathing protection (scope, operation and limitations)
- construction, operation of independent respiratory protection equipment
- factors affecting the degree of protection calculations: pressure and residual pressure, air consumption, safety margin
- explain points of attention when using a hose connection (bottle cart, breathing air net)
- advantages and disadvantages of self-contained breathing apparatus and of breathing air via fixed breathing line
- maintenance, control
- pick-up and drop-off procedure and safety tests
- LMRA
Practice:
- Prepare and check respiratory equipment
- set-up and disposal procedure
- habituation wear autonomous respiratory protection
- with respirators can climb stairs, climb ladders, crawl through narrow passageways low passages, go through a manhole
- Be able to perform simple work with breathing apparatus
- be able to respond to emergency situations such as problems on own bottle, colleague in distress, fire or gas alarms
- calculate air consumption, return time
Conditions of participation: 18 years of age and medically certified to wear self-contained breathing protection.
Evaluation of trainees The successful participant receives a certificate of participation or an IS081-Working with self-contained (autonomous and non-autonomous) respiratory protection recognized by BeSaCC SCC.
The diploma is valid for 5 years.
